I’ve been a speechwriter at a big tech company in Seattle for 20 years. I’ve helped executives turn corporate ideas into interesting, funny, and memorable stories. I’ve written their speeches. I’ve written their blogs. I’ve written their tweets. I’m also now writing for myself. In my travels as a writer, I’ve come to realize that all of us have something that stops us from realizing our potential and finding our voice. I call this, “guarding your elephant.” I’m currently working on a novel about technology, elephants, and creating a world where my daughter can contribute as much to the planet as my son.
